Weona Mercedez Dean has served the community for over 25 years starting in her home state, Texas now in New Jersey. She believes she was born to help, educate and rally to make changes for the unfortunate. This being her aspiration it opened a path of advocacy work and allowed her to opt being a Community Organizer and an Event Organizer. This has been her purpose in this life path. It all started with helping the Salvation Army raise clothing and food for those who lost everything in a Hurricane that left hundreds of people homeless in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was instilled with Education is Power and giving to others continues to be her passion. While working as HR Manager for Superior Services, raising two children she decided to go to Del Mar College to get her paralegal degree and was the pinnacle of the class. Upon her completion, she started LA Runner Enterprise, a company where she freelance her capabilities to those that didn’t understand the law and had no money to get the help. Being referred to an array of attorneys from Family Law, Corporate Law and Estate Planning by a Professor of the college opened many doors for her to help her community.

She also gave her time to the CASA program where advocates and volunteers represent abused and neglected children in juvenile court for foster homes, child welfare services and child care. This was one of many programs she headed up while receiving her degree so that her colleagues would have other choices to volunteering their time prior to graduation. Being an advocate for the Crime Victims Service was also another program that helped many people which gave her the outlook to belief that life is a wonderful gift and while we are here our purpose is to inspire others to find their God’s given talent to work towards the betterment of mankind/womankind.

While working with the City of Corpus Christi in the Weed and Seed Program, as the Project Manager, she found herself always educating herself, striving to know something every day which laid a platform for her to finds ways that youth could explore their possibilities. Always finding programs and organizations that could make all targeted areas aware of programs such as, Alternative Incarcerated Programs, Youth Social Programs; Awareness Programs from teen pregnancy, HIV and senior programs as well.

Her achievements in client services, for public, private and non-profit sectors in array of ventures she has undertaken allowed her to start her on non-profit business called Mercedez Dreamz once she relocated in New Jersey. It allowed her to manage and direct large functions that required communication with diverse clientele. City, County, State officials, local community leaders and local churches were one of the largest distinctive groups that she had the pleasure of working alongside. While working with such a diverse group, to help start awareness programs and community unity day, allowed her to establish a State Holiday call “Juneteenth Independence Day” in Bergen County. This was one of her great accomplishments. Her core strength is having the ability to bring people together and accomplish the goal that is set before the team. This demonstrates her ability to take risk and work well with people from all backgrounds. Other attributes are utilization of resources, communicating effectively with all levels of staff, clients, vendors and community leaders which make it possible to get the job done. She is always striving for a better tomorrow.
