Nicole Chen is a current senior and member of the Finance Academy at the Academies at Englewood.  She plans to major in the field of business along with a minor in law or psychology.  Throughout her entire academic career Nicole has always held her place on the honor roll, while also ranking in the top 5% of her classes.  Along with her interest in the competitive business atmosphere, her competitive persona is also revealed in athletics.

Nicole has participated in a tri-varsity level of athletics, which include soccer, basketball, and softball. Outside of school, she plays in multiple soccer tournaments and softball club teams.  She plans to continue her passion for sports by playing on club and inter-mural athletic teams.  Nicole has been selected to serve as the team leader on multiple teams and occasions and continues to show her leadership through her community projects and activities.

As President and active steering committee member of Bergen County Habitat for Humanity Youth United, Nicole has gained a wide scope of leadership experience.  BCHFHYU has raised over $12,000 each year to help hard working families have affordable housing.  Finding a strong interest and passion for Habitat for Humanity Youth United, Nicole has founded her own Habitat for Humanity Youth United Club at her school, which has over 50 members.

Nicole enjoys engaging herself by participating in clubs and activities in her free time.  Being a committed member of several groups, which include Model UN, Future Business Leaders of America, Health and Occupation Students of America, and Heroes and Cool Kids, she has gained the experience of collaboratively working with others.  She is a member of both the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society.  She is strongly devoted to helping people who are disabled or have special needs.  She also volunteers at Fusion Sports Clinic for Children with Special Needs, a sports clinic that allows children to remain healthy and active in sports, and Camp Sunshine, a camp where people with disabilities can have a day of fun and excitement.

Nicole has been appointed as one of Bergen County's Junior Commissioners on the Status of Women.  Each year, Bergen County officials select 23 young women from Bergen County to serve one year terms starting September 1st to participate in various special community service projects.  This accomplishment is not only an honor for Nicole, but also a unique opportunity to improve her community along with other young women with the same driven initiative.

Although Nicole is only at beginning her career, she has worked hard to gain a broad range of work experience.  She served as a summer camp counselor for her town's recreational center for two years 2008-2009 and has been selected as the Counselor of the Year for these two years as well.  She also interned for a local tax attorney during the summer of 2009 to gain a basic knowledge of the business world.  Always looking for opportunities to expand her experience, Nicole has become manager of S-Sense Management Teen Promotions, a high caliber event planning team that provides clean, safe fun for teens.  In addition to S-Sense Management, she also co-developed Hype Entertainment NYC a partnership with a fellow promoter that works hand in hand with S-Sense Management.  Nicole's ambitions to become successful in today's business world are clearly displayed with her strong passion and initiative.

Nicole currently resides in Englewood Cliffs with her family.
