Kayellen Dunston-Jefferson Biography
Kayellen Dunston-Jefferson is the co-founder and VP of Corporate Communications of the Circles of Color Business Network International, LLC in Englewood, NJ. She grew up in East Orange, NJ attending diverse Catholic schools. At a very young age she was taught the value of volunteering by her mom, and the value of having a strong work ethic, by her dad. With these instilled she was able to meet the challenges in the workforce and attain exemplary achievement. She received an Associate Degree in Word Processing from Essex County College and graduated from Bloomfield College certified in Materials Management. She attended Cittone Institute completing the PC Technical Support Certificate Program. She received her real estate license from Weichert Real Estate School.
Currently Kayellen is a Real Estate Agent/Leasing Agent for Weichert Realtors. She is a Marketing Specialist assisting people in selling and buying residential, commercial, and investment properties. At Connolly Properties, Inc. additional skills as a leasing agent included preparation of marketing strategies and reports by keeping current on submarkets and competition. She was also a Personal Financial Representative at Washington Mutual specializing in business banking, extending excellent customer service to her clients.
Kayellen had a vast work experience at Unilever, Inc. As Senior Customer Service Representative she managed customer “order fulfillment” process for assigned accounts and had extensive experience researching and resolving client issues and problems. As an administrative assistant she was responsible for tracking operating expenses and maintaining cost center data, as well as assisting with internal audit reports. As an Export Order Processor she specialized in Markets Groups, communicating and coordinating with production personnel, traffic departments, credit departments, and distribution centers, to schedule and report the timely placement and efficient delivery of export orders. As a Purchasing Coordinator she assisted in purchasing and maintaining inventory and monitoring schedules with vendors and buyers.
When Kayellen met her husband Isaiah, she deeply admired his passion for mentoring and together they strategized a plan to impact the next generation. Building on her many accomplishments, she joined forces in what was to become an extremely unique venture. They became rooted and grounded in a monumental mission that birthed COC.
Kayellen has been featured in several periodicals, which include Bergen News, Suburbanite, NJ Forum and the Record. She also was interviewed on Time Warner Cable NY 35. Being involved in the community is central for her, and she has served as Public Relations Chairperson for the Englewood Rotary Club, in Englewood NJ. She also has been an advisor for Interact, React Club at Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, NJ. This program facilitates mentorship, guidance and exposure to the business world for high school students. Kayellen is an honorary member of the Tuskegee Airmen Inc. Claude B. Govan Tri-state Chapter. She is also a mentor and big sister to young professionals in the northern New Jersey area.
Kayellen is the creator of the COC Jewelry Boutique, whose motto is, “Jewels from the Heart Giving Back”. The jewelry handmade by her is often given to students as a reward for achievement and an encouragement for motivation. Through this venture she conducts workshops in Dwight Morrow HS teaching business principle of raising money to purchase materials, designing products and the importance of giving a percentage of proceeds to charity. |
